haze
haze is my guitar based music project. It is one of many, some never see the light of day. Or really, never get released into the ether.
What is it besides a guitar based music project?
Well, it sort of has a specific sound, or like an idea of sound. Wall of sound, shoegaze type stuff. It can be less wall of sound-y too. The soundtrack to my trips through nostalgia. That might be the best description of it.

It started its life the same way as the previous album.
Then I realized I wanted to record my amp instead of using Neural DSP's Morgan Amps.
What brought on writing this?
A need to create something and wanting to continue writing in the style of the EP before this.
With having the idea of the past being a burned out room that we kind of explore in looking back.
I wanted to kind of write something with that as the mood. Whether I'm actually able to do that,
remains to be seen.

This album is a short EP that is probably best described as instrumental shoegaze. It was born out of trying to find some kind of life balance with my hobbies. I hadn't played guitar in a few months and it became the great escape.
Waking up at 4AM and starting to record is how it began, like most of these projects really. There's something about being awake at that hour that is special. Usually I'd finish recording by 8AM, with the in-between time spent writing and listening back to what I played on the porch with a cigarette. Eventually I had a few songs that I enjoyed listening to.
